So Comcast Courtesy Services confirmed I'll be getting two cameras (one indoor, one outdoor), a motion sensor for each floor, garage keypad, and sensors for windows/doors. It'll be installed next Friday (31-May-2013).
Looking forward to being able to use the product our team runs the servers for. =)
One of the best videos I've ever watched about "The Human Condition."
Most of us live in "The Default Setting", most of us believe ourselves to be the center of the universe, inconvenienced by traffic, relatives/friends who disagree, or difficulties that would be just so much easier if others only agreed.
I make the mistake of believing myself to be all that, and then I get jarred out of it. I get jarred out of it by the sight of a homeless woman on a street corner, by my dog stopping to smell a flower I'd have otherwise ignored, by my boss getting upset at something that he won't even remember tomorrow…
and I'm thankful for what I've been given. I'm thankful that we can make a choice.
It severely breaks the "Pinch to Zoom" model and behaves poorly with Windows 8. I doubt it'll do any better under Ubuntu with a touchscreen. This is a UX issue, not an OS issue.
