Considering that my 401(k) has dropped from $57,120 to $41,300 this year, there are NO safe mutual funds for me to re-invest in. I’ll be out there burning my worthless stocks with a WickedLaser Elite, watching “Shaun of the Dead” on my Sony VAIO with 14000mAH battery and solar charger, and remembering days of skyrocketing credit limits and mortgages with bitter fondness.

Given that I don’t have much money to play with, the only investment advice I’ve ever gotten was from my biochem professor in undergrad: “Invest in Qiagen.” I think, if I ever do try buying stocks etc., I’ll just buy stock in biotech companies that my lab gets supplies from.
