The Pleo was everything that the Furby was not (truly intelligent, self-learning, more sensors and locomotion to interact with the environment). It was also incredibly expensive ($300-$600), and not nearly the success Caleb thought it would be.
Like the Sony Aibo, most people don't have the interest in spending a substantial amount of money on a robotic pet.
Maybe once Honda Asimo goes on sale, that'll change?

I still have my Furby. Every so often I wake it up, but Ki thinks it is just not right.
