I find self-photography extremely hard. Unless you set up a tripod and mark spaces with tape and all. But in general, it's super hard to take good photos.
On the other hand, future generations looking back on self photographs might assume that there were once cyborgs walking the Earth. So that's fun.

Messing around with focal depth amuses me to no end.
Assuming it's 36 inches (3 feet) from my camera to the mirror, I need to take pictures with a focal depth of 72 inches if I want to see myself in focus. If I focus on the mirror, I'll be out-of-focus since I am twice that length.
Messing with depth-of-field is even more fun. Using a 16mm prime in Macro allows for beautifully detailed petals on a defocused rose, or canyons for crows-feet on a defocused face.
