Stupid Car Tricks?

05 Sep

Neat trick… I just tried it on my Nissan Rogue. It flashed the lights four times and rolled down all the windows using my keyfob.

I could see this being somewhat useful.  Nice to use in a hot parking lot.

Strange that my car doesn't let you roll them back up with the fob, but if you insert the key into the door and turn right and hold, all the windows will roll up. Turn and hold left for down.

What a stupid feature. My Nissan Murano windows rolled themselves down during a driving rainstorm when I sat on the keys. The alarm triggers at least once a day when I bend over to pick something up. The fob has to be inserted in the dash so a fob cover is not an option.
The stealership can’t figure out how to disable these “features”.
There are so many gizmos on new cars that are a distraction and counter-productive. The stability control applies the brakes if I hit a pothole when accelerating to enter the flow of traffic. The fog lights only come on if the main beams are on making them useless. The auto dimming rear view mirror is near useless.
The climate controls are on the display screen which cannot be seen when the sun hits it. The audio inputs are in the back seat area! STOOPID!
I’m glad my wife likes this car because I would sell it.
