I love my Nexus 7, but the Asus Transfomer Infinity is the most useful Android device I own: 64GB tablet, high-res screen, physical keyboard, outdoor readability, and fast Tegra 3 processor.
Once it has Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) tomorrow, I'll be carrying and using my Nexus 7 alot less.

Awesome. I really enjoyed the update on my phone. A lot of small things that added up to a smoother experience.

It's true.
ASUS announced it on their Facebook page and on their blog:
"Jellybean update delayed for USA and Canada, facebook issues mainly"

Latest update from ASUS:
"North American Update – 9/27/2012 10.4.4.14.1 Release is held.
For those users in the US and Canada, the 10.4.4.16 Release should be available early next week. A couple of applications that were recently updated (Facebook 1.9.10 on 9/20 as one example) required a last minute firmware update for the keyboard to operate correctly in the "Comment" area with Android 4.1. Sorry about the slight delay but this fix needed to be implemented before release. "

Let me know how you like this thing on JB. I'm thinking of picking one up. And also… how much do you use the dock vs not?

+David Dzado I'm using the keyboard dock now as I type this. I use the keyboard heavily, probably a good 70-80% of the time since I type often. The only times I undock it are when I'm surfing the web, reading an e-book, or playing a game.
I think mobile computing has turned people from producers to consumers. Especially the iPad, despite the Retina display (or because of it), people are anxious to consume content rather than produce anything of their own. At least for myself, I'm hoping to change that.
Jelly Bean is certainly nice on the Infinity. It's fast, it corrects for earlier issues with launcher and app management, and "Project Butter" adds a maturity and polish that helps Android get taken more seriously outside of its humble beginnings.
I'm extremely happy with my Infinity. I find myself using it more than my MacBook Pro or my Nexus 7. The performance, detachable keyboard, and being able to play/work/read anywhere is a very good thing.

So I'm in a very similar situation to you. I have a macbook pro, but no nexus 7. I just bought the Infinity last night (they didn't have champagne *tear*). I'm very skeptical right now on why I even should have it, and if it was worth the $500. I mean, after all, I still have a great laptop, and I have galaxy nexus phone.
