Our new home protection: a Walther P99C with several 8-round magazines.
Easy weight, balance, and handling. This will be my first 9mm since the Beretta I carried back in '96. I imagine Vicky will do fine with it… need to get some range time next weekend.

I want to do some range exploits too. My neighbor has a nice outdoor range, maybe I'll head over soon!

Thanks… I've been lusting after a Beretta or Walther for the past year. Having read all the reviews for the P99C, it has the perfect balance of weight, recoil, and precision that I'm looking for. I know I'll have no problem with it, and I expect Vicky will have little trouble with it. I'm comfortable with Vicky handling a Walther 9mm.

I have an alarm and three large dogs. I think, given a choice between my house and yours, they will pick yours. My method prevents the problem. Yours is a solution. :)

We have an alarm system and motion sensor floodlights, but that hasn't stopped two neighbors from being broken into. Since Kiyomi is a small, non-threatening dog (to anyone not scared of Shelties), the amount of prevention is limited. The handgun is a solution to self-preservation and protection, not necessarily a solution or prevention to home break-ins.
Our other neighbor has a pitbull-boxer mix. At 90lbs of growl, Rudy is better prevention than our 15lb Kiyomi and alarm system.

I thought I saw Walther PPK. For a second, I was going to commend you on purchasing James Bond's gun.
